Terms and Conditions
Chordline Ltd offers a consolidation shipping service for licensed firearms from the UK to the USA. This includes packing, export documentation, airfreight, import clearance, and final delivery to your designated U.S. FFL dealer.
All rates are applied per invoice, not per shipment. If firearms are purchased from multiple auction houses or sellers, each separate invoice will be billed individually under our published rates. Our UK pricing includes transport from Chordline Ltd to Heathrow, airfreight to Washington Dulles (IAD), and basic insurance (if selected).
Additional charges may apply for oversized/heavy firearms, pairs, cased guns, or special collections.
A minimum deposit of £30.00 is required to arrange insurance upon confirmation of service. Insurance is calculated at 1.5% of the item value, with tiered excess/deductibles depending on item value. Theft, pilferage, and non-delivery claims are subject to a 10% excess of the insured value. UPS includes $100 USD basic coverage for domestic delivery; additional coverage is available via Parcel Pro upon request.
4. U.S. Import and Domestic Delivery
A U.S. import permit (Form 6 Part 1) will be obtained as part of the process. Firearms will be transferred to your nominated FFL dealer after importation. U.S. customs duties, Merchandise Processing Fees (MPF), and broker fees apply as per current regulations. Final U.S. domestic shipping (from Arlington, VA) will be quoted after customs clearance and depends on package weight, dimensions, and destination.
Standard lead time is 12+ weeks from receipt of your confirmation to use the service. Additional delays may occur due to regulatory changes, licensing processes, or import/export agency reviews. Consolidated shipments may take additional time once in the U.S. due to grouping and handling procedures.
If you confirm participation in the consolidation service via email but later choose not to proceed:
· You may store your guns at Chordline Ltd at £5.00 per gun per week.
· If you ultimately decide not to proceed with shipping, the following fees will apply:
o Collection Costs: £40.00 for the first gun + £10.00 per additional gun
o Administration Fee: £25.00 for the first gun + £7.50 per additional gun
o Return to Holts Auctioneers: £40.00 for the first gun + £10.00 per additional gun
These fees cover the cost of collection, documentation, handling, and communications already carried out in preparation for shipping.
Chordline Ltd is not responsible for delays caused by third-party customs, licensing agencies, courier services, or any act beyond our control. Liability is limited to the declared value of the item(s) and to the terms of any insurance cover arranged. The customer is responsible for confirming their local FFL dealer’s acceptance policies and any associated transfer fees.
Ensure that all necessary documents are provided in a timely manner. Provide full and accurate details of the receiving FFL dealer in the U.S. Pay all quoted fees prior to shipping, including any tariff deposits, customs charges, and applicable U.S. delivery costs.
